Why Choose Online?

1. Geographical Isolation: We get enquiries all the time from services and schools who live rurally and remotely. We know how hard it is to get to workshops that generally only run in our capital cities. Save yourself the time and do it online!

2. Cost: Many of our courses are full or multi-day offerings but the cost to get to the Sunshine Coast or have us travel to you, accommodation and replacement staff blows out workshop costs. Purchasing online means you can cut these costs out and put that money towards other priorities.

3. Context: Most of our courses are run in sub-tropical South-East Queensland and while it’s beautiful, it may not be relevant to your farm, bush, dessert or urban kindy. By working through the course online, in your own space, you’ll be able to contexulise the learning to your setting.

4. Sustainable Program: By purchasing online, you have a training tool you can use to continually train and upskill your current and new staff meaning you have a much better chance of embedding Bush Kindy into your work culture.

The Benefits for You and Your children

By participating in our Bush Kindy training workshops, you'll:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of nature play philosophies and pedagogies;

  • Understand the benefits of nature play on children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development;

  • Learn practical strategies to implement nature-based learning activities that align with your curriculum goals, including adventurous skills such as campfire and bush cooking, hand tool safety, rope play and temporary structures, water play, stick, rock and mud play and tree climbing;

  • Learn outdoor group management tips and tricks specific to distinct activities e.g. group management around fire, superivsing a group using hand tools;

  • Enhance your skills in risk management, safety, and creating a supportive learning environment in outdoor settings;

  • Cultivate a sense of wonder in your students by fostering their curiosity and love for nature;

  • Naturally encourage sustainability and environmental stewardship and teach children the importance of protecting and conserving the natural world by easily embedding your program/s across your school or service.

  • Be given policy, procedure, risk assessment and safety briefing templates for each activity (hand tools, fire etc) that only need tweaking to your context.
